VANCOUVER, B.C.

A 708 sf. addition that provides an elevator, elevator mechanical room and stairs. Stairs, exits, washrooms, waterfountains, ramps and handrails were upgraded to meet existing handicap code requirements. An existing 500 sf. changing room was renovated to provide a Learning Assistance Classroom.

 
Lord Nelson
VANCOUVER, B.C.

As part of a voluntary accessibility upgrade program for existing schools, the Lord Nelson Elementary School improvements provided a minor code upgrade and provision of a fully accessible turn of the century school with numerous stairs. The assignment involved a feasibility analysis and subsequent implementation of upgrading measures.

 
MacQuinna Residence Study
BCIT, BURNABY, B.C.

A functional and physical evaluation of the student residences at BCIT. This included both interior and exterior sites. A report was issued that included life cycle maintenance and costing.

 
Dental Hygiene Building *
COLLEGE OF NEW CALEDONIA
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C.

Accommodation provided includes Operatory (24 chairs); Dispensary and Sterilization; Oral Hygiene Room; Demonstration Room; 3 X-Ray Rooms; Dirty Lab; Materials Lab; Seminar; five Offices; two Lecture Theaters; and Ancillary accommodation.

 
College Renovations *
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C.

A 63,000 sf. addition and 25,000 sf. renovation completed in 1997. Accommodation provided in the new area included a Library; Student Services; First Nations Support; Co-op Education; and the College Store.

 
Foothills Elementary School *

The Foothills Elementary school is a 32,000 sf. neighbourhood school developed from previous models which were successful both functionally and economically. The scale of the building has been visually reduced by the use of a sloped berm around the perimeter.

 
McBride Secondary School *
McBRIDE, B.C.

A 33,000 sf. single storey structural steel and masonry building accommodating classrooms, science labs, home economics, gymnasium and industrial education spaces.
