Congregate and Independent Living (ILBC) Housing for Senior Citizens where special attention for a "Supportive" designed environment to enhance the resident's activities of daily living is a major endeavor of Jensen Chernoff Thompson Architects. Shannon Oaks Victoria
OAK BAY, B.C.

Marrion Village in Oak Bay is a major seniors centre for Oak Bay consisting of two new buildings one being an assisted living residential tower of 56 units and the other being a congregate care project of 102 units. The buildings are linked with covered walkways and facilities for dining for the residents in the complex are provided. Services provided by the project will be dining, housekeeping and linen services. Other spaces are provided within the facility to provide amenities and services to the residents. (JGA)

 
Alexander Mackie Lodge
LANGFORD, B.C.

For the Royal Canadian Legion, the Alexander Mackie Lodge, Phase I of a ‘campus of care’ was developed for 75 residential seniors citizens assisted living units created emphasizing a residential environment. Phase II of 53 special assisted living units are expected to proceed November 2007. (JGA)

The Cedars
VICTORIA, B.C.

The Cedars consists of a three phase development on a 6.9 acre site, to provide solutions to a variety of housing needs for Seniors. The development scenario is centered on the philosophy of “Aging in Place”. Phase 1 consists of 45 Low Cost Seniors’ Rental Housing Units, Phase 2 provides 53 Supportive and Assisted Living Seniors’ project (both Phase I and 2 have been completed), and Phase 3 will be a 32 Resident Multilevel Care Facility.
