The owner of this project frustrated by not being able to find suitable light fixtures for their home renovation project in the local market bought a local lighting retail company, changed
its name to Illuminations and proceed to develop one of the largest lighting showroom facilities in North America. A renovation of a disused vegetable storage and shipping facility was undertaken
to accommodate the retail and warehouse functions — the old truck loading bays became the main entrance with new ramps and steps and the cavernous interior space transformed into a “black box” for
displaying the fixtures. Although not all the design elements were realised the bold colours and signage identifies the building from its industrial neighbours.
